Rules
Below are the rules of the Leaky Fan Art Galleries. If you have a question that is not answered on our FAQ page, please email fanart@the-leaky-cauldron.org.
Upload only your own work.
Do not post anyone's work on your profile without their expressed permission. That's stealing, and will result in the deletion of your account and rebuking of future privileges.Do not use others' work elsewhere without crediting.
Fan artists would absolutely love for you to share their work with your friends; just make sure you let people know who made it. We have "embed" links on each picture for this purpose; by using the code provided you give adequate credit while sharing the art.Do not post art of a sexually explicit, incestuous, adult/child or excessively violent nature.
Our rule is that what goes for the published Harry Potter books goes for us. If we feel an image is too violent to actually appear in Harry Potter (and yes, we are aware that the books are so violent sometimes that this will be a hard boundary to cross), too sexual to actually appear in Harry Potter, or incestuous AT ALL, it will be removed. Any art depicting an adult/child relationship will also be removed. Any other pairing between humans, so long as it does not betray the level of depiction presented in the book series, is allowed. For parents, our artists have the option of putting ratings on their work to mark any of a PG13 or higher nature; we may also ask an artist to apply a rating if we feel the art merits it.Please be nice.
Please respect and embrace everyone's right to comment and make opinions, but there is never a need to be rudederogatory/insulting. Artists may delete comments under their own albums, and we encourage them to do so. On a related note...Moderate your comments.
Artists, we've left it up to you to delete the comments/reviews you find offending or insulting. If you do not, after a certain time period the Leaky moderators will remove comments that violate our Terms of Service (though the rude and insulting ones may not actually violate terms, and would simply sit there, so we hope that you'd take the chance to delete them yourself).Don't flame.
Flaming is different from criticism: criticism points out something that could be improved. Disagreement is not a flame. Flaming includes but is not limited to insults or harassment of others based on actual or perceived gender, sexual orientation, age, race, ethnicity, religion, magical status or lack thereof, Hogwarts house, national origin, political affiliation, character preference, or "ship" preference. Do not post a comment that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, tortuous, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, libelous, invasive of another's privacy or hateful.Anything in a post/signature/profile that an author or a Leaky moderator deems inappropriate will be deleted.
